Quails/Kaadai fry

I think every body know about Quails/ kaadai.Quails are small, plump terrestial birds. It is the smallest member of the patridge family. I always like cooking Quails though cleaning them is the toughest job.  But to my surprise the dish came out very well.Its a perfect dish when you are having a party around or giving a feast as you can marinate everything the before night and just cook on the party day.Or u can cook like u cook chicken.Any ways will do.


Goes well with almost all the dishes. So I wanted to share this recipe with you all.This dish is one of my favorite dish.







Ingredients

Squils/kadai            -1/2kg
Onions                   -3 chopped
Tomato                  -2chopped
Ginger/garlic paste  -2 tbsp
Cinamon stick         -1 inch
Cardamom              -1 no
Pepper pwd            -2 tsp
Chilly pwd              -1 tsp
Oil                          -2 tsp
Salt to taste

Method

  1. Heat oil in a heavy bottomed kadai,add cinnamon stick and carmom when it splutters add onions and fry till golden brown.
  2. Sendly add the ginger garlic paste and saute for 1 min,then add tomatoes and saute till the tomatoes r done.
  3. Now ad the kadai  and saute well till the masalas are well coated with it.At this stage add pepper pwd and chilly pwd and stir well.
  4. Now add little water for cooking. cover and cook for 10 min.
  5. When itis done remove from fire ans serve hot.
  6. This dish goes well with all.

  1. I've heard of quail curries, but have never tasted them. The curry looks delicious!! :)
