Fish curry ia a typical Indian style dish.This is a very simple dish which can be made within 10 min .My husband loves this fish curry with kerala rice and papad.Even many people have told me it tastes good. so guys i hope u ll try this.Trust me it tastes really good.
Ingredients
Fish -1/2 kg
onion(small) -15 pods
onion (big) -1 no
corainder pwd -2 tsp
chilly pwd -3tsp
Turmeric pwd - 1/2 tsp
Tomato -2 no (big)
Tamarind -1 lemon size(soaked in water)or kerala tamarind(kodan puli)
fenugreek seeds -1/4 tsp
zeera -1/4 tsp
Garlic -4 pods
oil(gingerly) -4 tbsp
curry leaves -little
coconut(grind to paste)-1 cup
slit green chillies -2 no
salt to taste
*If u ve kodampuli(kerala tamarind)then that is better.
Method
Clean the fish and marinate with little salt,turmeric pwd and chilly pwd.
Then in a heavy bottomed pan add oil ,season with zeera,fenugreek seeds,garlic and curry leaves.
Add the onions,saute till the onions become golden brown then add the corainder pwd,chilly pwd,turmeric pwd and slit green chillies.
saute for one min then add the tomatoes and stir till the tomatoes r cooked.whn it is done add the coconut,tamarind puree and the fish. bring to boil.close with a lid and simmer for 10 min,thn off the flame.
Garnish with corainder leaves & serve hot.
